  • Antique Cup & Saucer, Espresso Demitasse, Cabbage Leaf Shaped, Butterfly Handle, Embossed Porcelain with Gold Details, RARE Drinkware, Coffee Lovers, Espresso Drinkers, German Porcelain, Collectible Coffee Cups, (Discontinued)
  • Made in: Germany
  • Antique: Early 1900's
  • Details:  This espresso cup is so beautiful and a very RARE find!  It has an embossed cabbage leaf pattern, all outlined in hand painted gold. The cutest part is the gorgeous butterfly handle!  There are some newer demitasse being sold with a butterfly handle, however, you will immediately see the lack of craftmanship and lack of texture and detail in those, the wings are almost square.  The saucer has the same cabbage leaf pattern with a smooth blank center.  This is very fine porcelain, very translucent.  Based on the mark on the cup, we believe this was made by Sitzendorfer Porcelain, Germany.  It's a very early mark, a long line with two dashes, used up to 1902.  However, we are not experts, please review the pictures and the mark and make your own determination.  If you're a demitasse collector, this one is unusual, a rare find, not to be missed.
  • Material:  Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  Cup:  1.74 inch Tall, approx. 2.0 inches in Diameter, (not including handle).  Saucer:  approx. 4.0 inches in Diameter
  • Condition: Antique - Used.  Excellent Antique Condition.  Please note size.  There is some wear in gold center of cup, and cup handle.  Otherwise there are NO chips, cracks, or scratches.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we cannot accept returns.  Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

Sitzendorfer Porcelain has a very extensive history going back to at least 1850, founded by Wilhelm Liebmann in the city of Sitzendorf, Germany.  It has been published that the factory lasted over 160 years, until 2012.  They had started to face decreasing sales in the late 1980's and never recovered.  Press releases from August and September 2011, showed a desire to restructure but by 2012, the company factory and brand were offered up for auction.  Sadly there were no bidders, production stopped in November 15th 2012.
